Queuing for iPhone 3G

This was the scene at 6:59am on the 11th July outside the O2 store at Fleet Street, London. There were apparently only 60 iPhones in stock but there were probably over 200 people queuing when the doors opened at 8:02.
Luckily, I was second in line having got there just after 6am! It did take 50 minutes to actually get the phone though due to O2's rather pathetic activation system that went down!
It was worth the wait though as the iPhone 3G is wonderful and only cost me £59 :-D

Cheers ! I Accidently Upgraded my firmware to 4.0.2 and was gutted cause i couldnt find a jailbreak, i then tried and tried to downgrade it but found out my i-tunes was crap so re loaded it and successfully downgraded to 4.0 and now it works!! yay! so happy :) xx

These people are insane. Also, someone from the O2 store should have come out at Half 7 giving people numbers… not fair to keep people waiting when there’s no stock!

They did walk up and down the line telling people there weren’t any but a lot of people stayed hoping that people would either get bored and leave or that they would fail a credit check or something.
O2 also didn’t know how many iPhones they had until they got there at 7:45 so wasn’t much they could do – gave out lots of cups of tea and biscuits though!
